“WeChat Store” are essentially ecommerce pages within WeChat, built using HTML5. As an early pioneer in ecommerce solutions, WeChat has developed many products over the years, with “Mini Program Malls” being its latest. These are built through mini programs and offer an experience closer to native mobile applications due to better fluidity and function.
From a marketing standpoint, however, the difference between the two is starker. Tencent’s has focused its efforts on integrating mini programs better with the wider landscape; entry points to the mini program can come from WeChat search, offline or the community.
